The Liberia Electricity
Corporation (LEC), which was established by an act of National Legislature on
July 12, 1973, is a wholly owned public utility of the Government of the
Republic
of
Liberia
, (GOL). The board of Directors appointed by the president of
Liberia
headed by a Chairman formulates the policy and objectives of the corporation.
The corporation Management team comprises of a managing Director three Deputies
Managing Directors and Financial Comptroller with 10 departmental managers. The
Management of the corporation carries out the mandate to plan, generate,
generate and transmit and distribute and sell electric power in
Liberia
.
The Managing Director who
is also secretary to the Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the
corporation has the overall responsibility of directing and controlling the
activities of the three Deputy managing Directors and Financial Comptroller. The
Deputy managing Directors and Comptroller in turn directly supervise the
activities of the various departments under their control.
